Scripture Read – Job 3-4

Nugget 3:20, 23, 26

“Why is light given to one in misery, and life to the bitter in soul, … Why is light given to one who cannot see the way, whom God has fenced in? … I am not at ease, not am I quiet; I have no rest; but trouble comes.”

Devotional thought: As I read this Chapter, chapter 3 of the Book of Job, I thought of the movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” I remembered George Bailey crying out to Clarence the angel, “It would have been better if I had never been born.” That’s exactly why God shines light on those in misery, those bitter in soul, those who cannot see the way! God fences us in, so we must stand still, so we can recognize that the light his light is directed upon us and we can see The Way, then we can rest, be at ease and find quiet. For sure trouble has come, abounds and will come some more. But Christ has come, is here, and is returning – the light of God shines brightly – It is a wonderful life- have faith!
