Scripture Read Job 11-12

Nugget Job 11:13-19

“‘If you direct your heart rightly, you will stretch out your hands toward him. If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away, and do not let wickedness reside in your tents. Surely then you will lift up your face without blemish; you will be secure, and will not fear. You will forget your misery; you will remember it as waters that have passed away. And your life will be brighter than the noonday; its darkness will be like the morning. And you will have confidence, because there is hope; you will be protected and take your rest in safety. You will lie down, and no one will make you afraid; many will entreat your favor.’”

Devotional thought: Being the “Lenten” person I am, Zophar’s calling Job to confession and encouraging Job to turn from iniquity/wickedness (sin) and turn to God hits home. That which separates us from God is the sin in our lives. Especially the sin we haven’t recognized or realized. Pray now to God that He reveal anything deep down inside that you haven’t previously recognized, upon His revealing, then admit, confess, and give to God. Jesus is the sacrifice to pay the price and wipe away that sin. Leave it with God, it is done, finished. Arise and sin no more. Arise, be confident and assured.
