Scripture Read Job 29-30

Nugget Job 30:26-28

“But when I looked for good, evil came; and when I waited for light, darkness came. My inward parts are in turmoil, and are never still; days of affliction come to meet me. I go about in sunless gloom; I stand in the assembly and cry for help.”

Devotional Thought: Jobs words resonate with me this morning. I’m confident when he spoke or thought them these statements resonated with Moses as well. I am tired, frustrated and beaten down by those who bully others, who have no vision for the future, who only complain as they look back into the past. The glory of God, the light of God leads us forward into the future. “The LORD went in front of them in a pillar of cloud by day, to lead them along the way, and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light, so that they might travel by day or by night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.” (Exodus 13:21-22) Later, the pillar of the cloud went to the rear of the formation to protect the Israelites while the pillar of fire lit up the darkness allowing the Israelites to separate themselves from the pursuing enemy. I will trust God to show me the way, I will go where God leads, I will trust God to protect me from darkness, evil and those who have nothing to do with God. I will cry out to God for help for He will answer me. Hopefully, those assembled around me will hear who I cry to, will follow the example and will look to God to lead them into the future. O that the bully voices be transformed, that scaled fall from blind eyes, hardened hearts be changed. That all recognize the restoration and redemption available by Christ’s Resurrection! O Pillar of God who leads – I will follow You!
