Scripture Read Psalms 39-41

Nugget Psalm 40:9-11

“I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation; see, I have not restrained my lips, as you know, O LORD. I have not hidden your saving help within my heart, I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation; I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness from the great congregation. Do not, O LORD, withhold your mercy from me; let your steadfast love and your faithfulness keep me safe forever.”

Devotional Thought: Expressing faith in God’s promises is a demonstration of faithfulness. Sharing God’s saving grace with others is faith in action. This Sunday is Palm Sunday, a day of celebration, a day of remembering Jesus’ grand welcome as He entered Jerusalem. It is a day when it is easy to express faith in God. During the coming week, Holy Week, there will be days of remembrance that will make it hard to express faith as strongly. But, then there comes Easter! The Resurrection, which when believed makes it nearly impossible to contain. “But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation say continually, ‘Great is the LORD!’” (Ps 40:16)
