“Jesus answered them, ‘Do you now believe? The hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each one to his home, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone because the Father is with me. I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!’” John 16:31-33

Life lived in this world is life lived in a fallen condition. Temptation abounds, persecution abounds. Those who would oppose God, those who desire me/you to join with them in opposing God are all around. Why? Because they haven’t experienced the love of God. They glorify themselves to a position of great importance – it is a false and unstable position. Until they topple into the loving arms of Christ they recruit others to their point of view, for there is safety in numbers and it makes them feel good. But deep down, those who live in this fallen condition – fully participating in the temptations of a fallen world, know there is something missing, something incomplete in their person. In the midst of persecution, will I, will you introduce our persecutor to Jesus? The word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, how will we use it?
