Scripture Nugget 7.6.2016

“Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold; I have come into deep waters, and the flood sweeps over me. I am weary with my crying; my throat is parched. My eyes grow dim with waiting for my God. … Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. Let those who love your salvation say evermore, ‘God is great!’ But I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God! You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, do not delay!” Psalm 69: 1-3, 70:4-5

O God I need a broad place to stand, a place of assurance, a place where I am not in fear of drowning while quenching my thirst. How miserable it must be to be up to one’s neck in water, so deep the water washes completely over you, yet your throat is parched because you are afraid to drink deeply. O God lift me, lift us out of the deep! You are our help and deliverer. From where does help come from? Help comes from the Lord, God Almighty!
